.... if it is a raven, then, it is not a baby but a very old one, observed it to be a slow mover as it woke up by my disturbance, but am not very sure though.

It's possibly a bird not seen in New Zealand.
Maybe a German blackbird or raven.
Maybe Google will help you with Images of 'Birds of the world' or something like that. What about 'Black feathered birds'............................-
